-1- Try to write one lesson that you have got from this first lecture THE ANSWER SHOULD BE : I have got how to make sentences with verb "be"(am,are,is). & Sentences=S+V & Subjest=N and Pronouns(I,You,He,She,It,We,They,This,These . & Subject+form of verb"be" :106: -2- Have you learned any thing new from this lesson?If yes,tell us wht you’ve learned.If no,Do you think this lesson isn’t necessary?Why do you think so? THE ANSWER SHOULD BE : Actually,No i’ve not learned any thing new from this lesson.Ofcourse it’s very necessary,coz it’s talking abt the main basic grammar. :106: -3- Also,If you were me,How are going to teach verb to"be" ? THE ANSWER SHOULD BE : If i were you,huh O.K ^ ^ The verb"to be"is the first verb students learn in their English studies. It is used extensively in the English language and will allow students to create simple sentences with the vocabulary they have learned to date. How To Proceed? For this first lecture, it is best to focus on only the I, You, He/She/It structures which you can build upon in later classes. If students have not really done a lot of activities with the words he, she, and it, you may want to consider simply using names in the practice activities. *Introduce Vocabulary* During the introduction section of your lesson, introduce any new vocabulary you plan to use in this lesson. Some emotions and adjectives would be good because students will then be able to form complete meaningful sentences. Introduce words such as happy and sad if students have not yet learned them. Use flashcards to drill vocabulary and have students complete some simple worksheet activities for further practice. Introduce “to be” Show students how to make sentences such as “I am happy. You are happy. Jenny is happy.” Ensure that students understand how the subject and forms of the verb are paired. You can practice this before introducing the full sentence structure you would like students to learn. Call on students to make sentences choosing a subject, verb, and adjective from columns on the board. Without introducing the question form “Is she happy?” you can use such questions to test comprehension and students should understand what you are asking. Have them answer by saying “Yes, she is happy.” so that they continue to practice saying the target structure. Finally ,Review As a general review activity you can divide students into groups and play Hangman with sentences or words from their textbook. It is perhaps not appropriate to play the original game in your classroom so you can just adapt it so that no one actually hangs. One adaptation is to simply have a very large fish where when students guess incorrectly, a little fish gets closer and closer to being eaten. This is not very accurate as you can either draw the game out or end it whenever you choose. Another method of playing is to assign a point value to certain things. For example, if a group guesses the letter a and there are three in the sentence, the group would get three points. A correct guess of the entire sentence would be five points while there should be a penalty for guessing the entire phrase incorrectly but no penalty for guessing a letter that is not used. You can alter the scoring anyway you would like to make it more appropriate for your class. :) Thx 4 your presence :) دعواتكم ~. :119: |

Scanning involves moving your eyes quickly down the page seeking specific words and phrases. When scanning, look for the author's use of organizers such as numbers, letters, steps, or the words, first, second, or next. Look for words that are bold faced, italics, or in a different font size, style, or color. Sometimes the author will put key ideas in the margin. skimming=to give a quick and superficial reading. :106: ~OR -2- [gdwl] What are the rules of pronoun reference? Give me 2 example at least. [/gdwl] 1.Agree in number If the pronoun takes the place of a singular noun, you have to use a singular pronoun. e.g :. If you are writing in the "first person" (I), don't confuse your reader by switching to the "second person" (you) or "third person" (he, she, they, it, etc.). Here are the main uses of the verb to be for reference, self-study and in-class use . To be - Main Verb - Role To be is used as a main verb to indicate the role or position that one has at work, family, or other organization. e.g: Noteis my daughter. Fajr is a doctor. Faisal was a guest at our house last week. To be - Main Verb with Adjective To be is also used as a main verb together with adjectives to express qualities about someone. It's possible to use only adjectives with Be, or adjectives which modify other nouns. e.g:. Dima is a beautiful woman. Saad was a handsome man. She is interesting. They are ugly . To be - Main Verb - Location To be is used as a main verb to indicate location. e.g:. They are at lunch. Our house is in the countryside. Omar is in the backyard . To be - Main Verb with Comparative or Superlative Form To be is also used with the comparative or superlative form to make comparison between people, places, objects, and ideas. e.g:. The Maxima is faster than the Mercedes. Abha is the most exciting city in the world. My mother is a much better cook than my aunt Zohor. To be - Auxiliary Verb Be is also used as an auxiliary verb in continuous tenses. Remember that the auxiliary verb takes the conjugation in English, so the verb Be will change depending on the continuous tense. Here is a quick review of the tenses that use Be as an auxiliary verb: Present Continuous: They are watching TV at the moment. Past Continuous We were discussing the situation when he telephoned. Present Perfect Continuous: They have been waiting for over an hour. Future Continuous: Fahad will be playing the piano at eight p.m. at the grill. Future Perfect Continuous: Othman will have been playing the piano for two hours by the time he finishes. To be - Passive Voice Be is also used together with the past participle form in all passive sentences. The verb to be is always conjugated in the passive voiced and is followed by the past participle. All passive sentences have the following structure: Passive Subject + To Be + Past Participle Here is a quick review of the most common tenses used with to be as the conjugated verb in passive sentences: Present Simple: Many different types of machines are made in Japan. Present Continuous: That course is being taken by a number of students. Past Simple: Her house was built in 1987. Past Continuous: The ideas were being discussed while the decisions were being made. Future with 'Will': She will be hired as a consultant. Future with 'Going to': That book is going to be read by millions. Present Perfect: Our vacation resort has been enjoyed by thousands. المناقشه الثالثه لماده الانجليزي ..
English has two articles: the and a/an. The is used to refer to specific or particular nouns; a/an is used to modify non-specific or non-particular nouns. We call the the definite article and a/an the indefinite article. "Somebody call a policeman!" This refers to any policeman. We don't need a specific policeman; we need any policeman who is available.the = definite article a/an = indefinite article For example, if I say, "Let's read the book," I mean a specific book. If I say, "Let's read a book," I mean any book rather than a specific book. Here's another way to explain it: The is used to refer to a specific or particular member of a group. For example, "I just saw the most popular movie of the year." There are many movies, but only one particular movie is the most popular. Therefore, we use the. "A/an" is used to refer to a non-specific or non-particular member of the group. For example, "I would like to go see a movie." Here, we're not talking about a specific movie. We're talking about any movie. There are many movies, and I want to see any movie. I don't have a specific one in mind. Let's look at each kind of article a little more closely. Indefinite Articles: a and an "A" and "an" signal that the noun modified is indefinite, referring to any member of a group. For example: "When I was at the zoo, I saw an elephant!" Here, we're talking about a single, non-specific thing, in this case an elephant. There are probably several elephants at the zoo, but there's only one we're talking about here.
