Romantic Age :
Romantic age is refering indirectly to an interest in the charming , magical world
of medival " Romance" and more generally to rich imagenitive activty displayed in
that world , which is deeply characterstic of the late 18th century and early 19th century writers.

Romance :
as " freely imagintive idealizing fiction " and not as " love between men and women " is the true
basis for the term " Romantic age " ,
Romantic : originally reffered to highly imagintive medival tales of knightly adventure
written in the french from the origin Latin language .

Chief characteristic of Romantic age :
* Romantic writers emphisized imagenation and emotions - 18th century writers stressed reason and judgment .
* Romantic writer were concerned with the particalular - 18th century writers were general or universal in experience .
* Romantic writers champiand the value of the individual human being - 18th century writer stressed the value of socety as whole .
* Romantic writers strove for freedom - 18th century writers sought to follow and to substantiable
aythority and the rules derived from authority .
*Romantic writers took a nevitalized interest in medival subject and setting - 18th century writers
took their primary inspiration from classical Greek and Roman authors .

Historical Background :
- the revoltby the English colonies in Amarica aginst the economic and political control of the mother contury .
-French Recolution 1789 - French men had changed a war of self-defence for one of conquest ,
losing sight of all which they had struggled for .
- the industrial Revolution ; the shift during the 18th century and 19th century from hand labour
to new methods of manfacturing made by power - driven nachines - James Watt perfected the steam engin in 1765 .
- colonail expansion in 1805 after the Battle of Trafalgar England become the undispated master of the seas and in control of the most .
