المحاضرة فيها دش كلام, هي موضوعها عن القصائد اللتي تكون موجهة لمديح البطرانين اللي عندهم بيوت أو قصور ريفية, يوصف جمال القصر وجمال الحديقة اللي حواليه بأشجارها وحيواناتها ويوصف العزايم والحفلات اللي تصير فيه وكيف أنها راهية وتكفي الكل,
والهدف من المديح هو المال أو الاستفادة من سلطة الممدوح.

في هذا الموضوع راح نتكلم عن شغلتين في الشعر الإنجليزي, هما القافية Rhymescheme
والتفعيلة Iambic meter

نبدأ بالقافية Rhyme scheme:
يتم تحديد القافية بناء على الأصوات التي تنتهي بها أبيات الشعر sounds
والصوت في القافية هو المقطع الأخير من الكلمة الذي يبدأ من أخر حرف علة فيها وينتهي بنهاية الكلمة, مثل كلمة time يكون المقطع الأخير فيها هو ime وكلمة admit المقطع الأخير هو it وكلمة spheres المقطع الأخير هو eres طبعا حرف e الثاني صامت silent لذلك ما نحسبه بداية المقطع.
وعلشان نعرف القافية نشوف آخر كلمة في البيت الأول تنتهي بأي صوت sound نرمز لهذا الصوت بالحرف A ونشوف البيت الثاني إذا انتهى بصوت مختلف نرمز له بالرمز B, بعدين نشوف البيت الثالث إذا انتهى بنفس صوت البيت الأول نرمز له أيضا بالحرف A أما إذا انتهى بنفس صوت البيت الثاني نرمز له بالحرف B وإذا كان الصوت مختلف عن الاثنين نرمز له بالحرف C وفي البيت الرابع نكرر العملية وإذا كان الصوت مختلف عن الجميع نرمز له بالحرف D

مثال من سونيتة شكسبير
البيت الأول ينتهي بكلمة truth الصوت هنا هو uth نرمز له بالرمز A
البيت الثاني ينتهي بكلمة lies الصوت هنا هو ies وهو مختف عن الأول فنرمز له بالرمز B
البيت الثالث ينتهي بكلمة youth الصوت هنا هو uth وهو مثل البيت الأول فنرمز له بالرمز A
البيت الثالث ينتهي بكلمة subtleties الصوت هنا هو ies وهو مثل البيت الثاني فنرمز له بالرمز B
هذه هي الرباعية الأولى firs quatrian عرفنا أن تفعيلتها هي ABAB
في الرباعية الثانية راح تتكرر نفس العملية بس بأصوات مختلفة فراح نرمز لها بالرموز CDCD
وفي الرباعية الثالثة أيضا تتكرر نفس العملية بس بأصوات مختفة أيضا فنرمز لها بالرموز EFEF
في الثنائية couplet تنتهي بصوتين متشابهين فنرمز لهم بالرمز GG
فتكون القافية ABAB CDCD EFEF GG وهي القاقية في السونيتات الإنجليزية أو الشكسبيرية دائما, ف
ي حين أن تفعيلة السونيتة الإيطالية أو البتراركية هي abba abba cddc ee
طيب وش قصة الـ xyzxyz و الـ xyxyxy, (حسب ما فهمت) هذي القافية ذكرت في المقطع السداسي في السونيتة الإيطالية, ومعناها أن هذا المقطع يسمح فيه فقط بصوتين أو ثلاثة ولا يجوز فيه الزيادة عن ذلك, لذلك وضعت نهاية مغلقة وهي حرف z لتقيد عدد الأصوات بثلاثة على الأكثر.

بينما في قصيدة John Donne نرى أن القافية في أول أربعة أبيات أو ما يسمى بـ four-line stanza هي ABAB وتتكرر هذه القاعدة في كل ستانزا stanza بعدها, لذلك نقول أن القافية هي ABAB لكل ستانزا. ليش ما قلنا عن الأربعة الثانية CDCD واللي بعدها EFEF مثل السونيتة. السبب هو أن السونيتة محددة بأربعة عشر بيتا فيمكن تصنيف كل مجموعة بحروف مختلفة. أما في الشعر العادي مثل قصيدة Donne فعدد الأبيات غير محدد, فقط هي محددة بمقطع رباعي الأبيات four-linestanza يتكرر بعدد غير محدد, فيتم تحديد القافية للأربعة أبيات الأولى بطريقة abab ويتم تكراراها بغض النظر عن ما إذا كانت الأصوات في الـ stanza التالية مختلفة أو متشابهة مع الـ stanza السابقة


الموضوع الثاني: التفعيلة Iambic meter

طبعا التفاصيل هذي, خصوصا اللي مش موجود في المحتوى, مش مطلوبة, بس بما أنها وردت في المحاضرات حبيت أشرحها بشكل مبسط ومفصل علشان نعرف الدكتور يتكلم عن إيش
يتم تحديد التفعيلة بناء على التشديد والتخفيف (stress & unstress) في كل مقطع (foot)

يتكون المقطع من صوتين (sound)

الصوت في التفعيلات هو مقطع الكلام الذي يتشكل بوجود حرف علة أو أكثر ليس بينهم حرف صامت. يشبهه إلى حد كبير في علم الصوتيات فكرة الـ syllables وهو الناتج عن تقطيع الكلمة إلى عدة أجزاء بناء على الأصوات المتكونة من حروف العلة الموجودة بها.
مثل كلمة department تقطع كالآتي de-part-ment
وكلمة bor-row و كلمة in-creas-ing-ly
وهناك كلمات كثيرة تتكون من مقطع واحد مثل heart & go & please & they & bake

بالنسبة لـ sound في الشعر فإن بيت الشعر يُعامَل معاملة الكلمة الواحدة

مثال من السونيتة the Sonnet, إحنا أخذنا أن السونيتة Sonnet تكون دائما Iambic pentameter أي بتفعيلة خماسية بخمسة مقاطع (feet)

الكلمات المكتوبة بالحروف الكبيرة هي الي يكون فيها تشديد (stess) وطريقة التفعيلة الخماسية تكون بهذا الترتيب (unstessed - stressed) مخفف ثم مشدد
كل مقطع من هذه المقاطع مثل المقطع that SHE, يسمى foot
في المحاضرة الرابعة عن قصيدة John Donne, التفعيلة كانت رباعية Iambictetrameter
مثال:
absence, because it doth remove
نقطعها كالتالي:
ab-SENCE, be-CAUSE it DOTH reMOVE
(في الإنجليزية القديمة doth هي does)
وفي نفس القصيدة أيضا
to TELLthe LAiTY our Love
في هذا البيت نشوف أن كلمة laity اشتركوا فيها two feet مقطعين لأن الكلمة مكونة من ثلاثة أصوات sound كالتالي la i ty تنطق كالتالي لا-يي-تي
وفي كلمة our المفروض أنها مكونة من صوتين لأنها تنطق أَوَر a-war لكنها في هذا الموضع تنطق أَر ar فاعتبرت صوت واحد تستقيم معها التفعيلة.
