Hole it hold it, So i'm shallow coz I'm reading for Dickens, Bronte, Austin , Shakespeare and so many other great writers who when they write they actually express something, an idea or a point, if you read one book of them of one century u would almost know all the political, economical, social state of that century and how they used to live u would learn actual lessons from it !! I'm not against reading fanfiction at all but I might read one, two at the top but more would be such a waste of time with so many great books out there to read !!
I think the fanfiction is the "shallow" books since it's written with ppl who may not be qualified 4 writing

The thing I don't understand is why does it matter?

Writing Original Fictions is not as easy as writing fan fiction but it's just as fun. You can create characters and put them through stuff you'll never be through. You just need an idea and you're set!
