the difference between “too” and “either”. Basically, it’s very simple: we use both “too” and “either” to say that something is also true for a second person or thing. The difference is that we use “too” for positive statements and we use “either” and “neither” for negative statements. For example
A :I'm happy
B: I'm happy too
A: I enjoyed the film
B: I enjoyed it too
Mary is doctor. Her husband is a doctor too
(Too)
A: I'm not happy
B: I'm not happy either >>>> not ' I'm not happy too
A:I can not cook
B: I can not either
Ali does not watch TV. He does not read newspapers either
A: I can’t cook very well.
B: Me neither
(Niether) Or ( Either)
We use “either” when there is another negative word in the sentence such as “not” or “never”.
For example:
A:I can not cook
B: I can not either
A: I’ve never tried shrimp
B: Oh yeah? I haven’t either.
we use “neither” when there is no other negative word in the sentence.
For example:
A: I’ve never tried shrimp
B: Oh yeah? Neither have I.
So, we can say “Neither have I.” or “I haven’t either.”
but we CANNOT say: “I haven’t neither.” because there are two negative words in the sentence.
So am I (means) I am, too
So have I = I have too (etc) whatever
وهذه بعض الامثلة علي ( so am I)
A: I'm working
B: So am I
_______________
A: I was late for work today
(B: So was Ali ( Ali was late
______________
A: I work in a bank
B: So do I
A: we went to the cinema last night
B: Did you? So did we
A: I would like to go to Australia
B: So would I
So am I / So was I / So do I / So would I
