We use the present simple tense when we want to talk aboutfixed habits or routines – things that don’t change.


E.G.
-I woke up at 7 a.m. every day .

We use the present progressive to talk about actions, whichare happening at the present moment, but will soon finish.

E.G.
- Ahmad eating now.


Some verbs cannot be used in the progressive tenses. They arecalled non-action verbs.

Non-action verbs indicate state, sense, desire,possession, or opinion. The most common non-action verbs .


E.G.
- seem ,like , want

Just add the (WH) form to take the place of the unknown subject.

E.G.
-is feeling sick.

The indefinite article a/an has the following meanings: one,some, any; one item out of the group of many similar items.

E.G.
- I have a pen .

The definite article "the" has the followingmeanings: this, that; the only one; the one that we are speaking about; the onethat has already been mentioned.

- I have a pen , the pen is blue


the definite article with a plural noun is close to"these, those".

- I have been visited many countries, these countries are beautiful

An adverb of frequency goes before a main verb (except with To Be).
Subject + adverb + main verb

-I always remember to do my homework.
-He normally gets good marks in exams.

To define linking verbs is that linking verbs do not express action but connect the subject and verb to more information. Some words can function both as alinking verb and an action verb as you will see in some of the sentences below.

E.G.
- Michaelis a football fan.

-Tomas always feels tired when he stays up playing video games all night.

Syllables is a unit of pronunciation that has one vowel sound, and may or may not be surrounded by consonants. A syllable can form a whole word or part of a word.

- For example, there is one syllable in cat, two syllables in monkey and three syllables in elephant.
