Thank you for your email and sorry for the delay in replying to you because your email went into my spam folder by mistake. Please make sure to follow the important
instructions below. Following them will ensure that you get the best grade you can in this course. After you make any corrections necessary, send me your second draft in an
email called "Second Draft, Your Name". The deadline for sending the second draft is Decemebr 5th, 2013. If you have any questions about any of these instructions please don't hesitate to ask me.
IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR FIRST DRAFTS
1. Read through your paper again and make sure to correct all grammar, spelling and punctuation mistakes. Easy to correct mistakes like subject verb agreement (e.g. "The
students is.." instead of "The students are...") and article use (e.g. "I will ask a questions." instead of "I will ask a question.") are not acceptable at this level, so please make sure
to correct these mistakes if you have any.
2. Your research should not be copy/pasted from internet websites, books or other research papers. This is called plagiarism and it is not acceptable. If you are caught doing
this, you will lose a lot of points. You need to write your proposal in your own words and if you occasionally need to quote a reference, you need to use quotation marks " "
followed by the name of the author and date of the reference you used.
3. Make sure to have all the following required sections in your proposal. Each of them will be evaluated and you might miss points if you don't have them all. Here are all the
sections required:

A. Table of Contents
Add a table at the beginning that shows each of the sections below with the page number of each section.
B. Abstract
This is a one paragraph summary of your research proposal.
C. Introduction
Here you will have an overview and background information about the topic.
D. Literature review
Your literature review section should have two to three quotes or very brief summaries of what other researchers said about the topic you're discussing, and your comments
on those quotes. See here for more info: http://faculty.mwsu.edu/psychology/L..._litreview.pdf
E. Significance of Research
Significance of research should include why is the topic important and worthy of being researched, and why should other researchers be interested in reading it.
F. Research Question
The problem or issue you are researching in the form of a question.
G. Research Methodology
Your methodology section should include description of how you're going to conduct your research, what tools you're going to use and how will the tools help you answer your
research questions.
H. Ethical Considerations
Here you should explain how you will deal with your research participants. See here for more information: http://www.niehs.nih.gov/research/re...ethics/whatis/
I. Limitations of the Study
The limitations of the study section should include the factors that limits your results for example factors of time, place and sample size. And also anything that limited the use
of your tools or limited acquiring the data you need for your research.
J. Expected Results
Here you try to predict what results you expect to come out of your research after you complete it.
K. References
References should be organized alphabetically. Use correct citation of references. For example, to cite pages 23-45 from the 12th edition of a book called "Importance of
Knowledge" written by Alex Hard in 2002, and published by Penguin in New York. You do the following:
In-text: (Hardy, 2002, pp. 23-45)
In References: Hardy, A. 2002. Importance of Knowledge. 12th ed. New York: Penguin.
You can use this site to make this easier for you: http://www.citethisforme.com/cite/book
Here is how to cite websites in your references: http://www.easybib.com/reference/guide/apa/website
*Some research proposals might also need the following section:
L. Appendix
Here you place the questionnaires, interview questions, tests, translated texts.. etc or any other tools ans extra data you use in your research.
As I mentioned above, after you follow all the previous instructions very carefully, please send me your second draft in an email called "Second Draft, your name" to this email (
kfuresearch@gmail.com ).
