المناقشة الأولـــى In our first lecture we have talked about different reading strategies such as getting meaning from context, identifying the main idea, skimming for the topic and main idea. According to our recorded classes, what does “Getting Meaning from Context” mean or aim to? What does “main idea” mean”? What does “skimming” mean”? Answer two of the questions. Give examples. What does “main idea” mean”? The main idea: a sentence or two can Ajadha at the beginning or the middle or the end of the paragraph or the piece and they traditionally are in the beginning. e.g. The life of a doctor is not easy. Martin works a very long day, and he is very busy with a variety of activities. He spends a lot of time with people, but he also spends a lot of time working on reports in his office. * What is the main idea of this paragraph? If you said that the life of a doctor is not easy, you are correct. المناقشة الثــانيه In our 2nd lecture, we have discussed the following topics: supporting details, understanding italics, understanding contrast, and understanding scanning. ..Explain to me one topic and try to give examples. about italics we used the italick style with two cases first case to emphasis at special word during the read the gridlock is very huge problem in cities second case if there is a foreighn word in an english sentence about supporting detaile we can support our information wit ideas \examples\facts such as I want to study engglish beacuse i like it and it is an international language scanningwe read with fast and acuurate way to know special information like names \dates numbers المناقشة الثــــالثه In our 3rd lecture, we have discussed “Campus Life is Changing” passage. What is the main idea of the whole passage? The main idea is that life on campus has changed becouse the students changed themselvesthe المناقشة الرابعــــه In the 4th lecture, we have talked a little bit about parts of speeches? Give us as many examples as you can. 1- verb:find,work,decided,gives 2- nons:country,problems,cities,bottles 3 -adjective :cleaner, beautiful 4-adverb: probably المناقشة الخـــامسه In the 5th recorded class, our main topic was “Getting meaning from context”. We have taken different ways about “How can you get a meaning of unfamiliar words”. Explain one way by giving examples. People could choose their livelihood , but they couldn’t usually choose to change from one profession to another. livelihood =[-- profession--] المناقشة الســـادسه We have talked, in our sixth class, about prefixes. We took different kinds of prefixes. Mention all of them and their meanings. Give me the meanings of five of them. -al, ial = has property of : personal -ed= past verb : turned -en = made of : golden -able, ible = can be done : doable -er = comparative : higher المناقشــه الثامنــــه Recognizing cause and effect sentences using because, as, since, therefore, so, as a result, was the main topic of our 8th lecture. Could you please explain the differences between cause and effect sentences? How can we use because, since, as, therefore… etc. I really know the difference, buti cant explain it but it esasy for me to use iti in writing and speaking . |

التاسعه 1. An article { a – an – the } 2. A noun ( singular/ plural = { subject noun / object noun } 3. A pronoun { I , he, She, their, us, me……. etc } 4. An adjective { easy, hot, important, high, ------ smaller, best ……etc } 5. An adverb { quickly, easily, fast, fluently, well …… …..etc } 6. An auxiliary { verbs to Be, verbs to Have, Modals } 7. A preposition { on, in, at, by, with, for ………………….etc 8 . A main verb { present, past, future, } العاشره The first part yes i enjoy with this part the topic the main idea is in a sentence or tow and can be found at the beginning , middle, or end of a paragraph .Each paragraph has a mine idea الحاديه عشر countables are those which we can count like boy , man , plane uncountables like suger and rice and coffee الثانيه عشر Little: It means hardly any. Therefore it has negative meaning. For example: There is little hope of our team's victory now . A little: It means some enough though not much. Therefore it has positive meaning. For example: A little planning could have saved the situation .Few: It means not many, hardly any. So, therefore it has negative meaning . For example: Few people speak the truth today. A Few: It means 'some' as opposed to 'none'. Therefore it has positive meaning . For Example: A few children can speak English correctly in our society.We use A or AN with singular nouns. A is used when a noun starts with a consonant sound ; e.g. a dog, a book. AN is used when a noun starts with a vowel sound; e.g. an apple, an hour . We use SOME with countable nouns (only with their plural) and with uncountable nouns. SOME is used in: positive sentences; e.g. I have got some time. Questions, expressing requests and offers ; e.g. Would you like some tea? Can I have some biscuits? We use ANY with countable nouns (only with their plural) and with uncountable nouns. ANY is used in: negative sentences; e.g. I haven‘t got any time. general questions e.g. Have you got any sisters? Is there any tea left الثالثه عشر One-syllable adjectives. Form the comparative and superlative forms of a one-syllable adjective by adding –er for the comparative form and –est for the superlative. One-Syllable Adjective Comparative Form Superlative Form tall taller tallest old older oldest long longer longest Mary is taller than Max. Mary is the tallest of all the students. Max is older than John. Of the three students, Max is the oldest. My hair is longer than your hair. Max's story is the longest story I've ever heard. If the one-syllable adjective ends with an e, just add –r for the comparative form and –st for the superlative form. الرابعه عشر Yes, every person has thought of dreams and wishes to express them and achieve them on the ground May meet all of the importance of education, but disagree in the specialty and also every man has his ambitious and look at the life or rather the attention of the right to see |
