Spasmolytics
antispasmotics are drugs which relieve spasm of the smooth muscle and are used in the treatment of colics
these drugs include
parasympathetic depressants*
these are drugs that block the muscarinic peripheral cholinergic receptors and thus inhibit the muscarinic actions of acetylcholine and other parasympathomimetics drugs
they produce bradycardia ,dilatation of blood vessels in toxic doses , reduction of tone and motility of the gastrointestinal smooth muscle , bronchodilatation and reduction of bronchial secretion ,relaxation
of the detrusor muscle and contraction of sphincter and trigone lead to retention of urine , reduction of salivary and sweat secretions e.g. atropine and hyoscine,
