المحاضرة 13=تتكلم عن الشعر الرعوي
Pastoral is a minor but important mode which, by convention, is concerned with the lives of shepherds
Pastoral is of great antiquity and interpenetrates many works in Classical and modern European literature

For the most part pastoral tends to be an idealization of shepherd life

the poem=The Passionate Shepherd to his Love

Writer )the poet=Christopher Marlowe

Type of the poem=Pastoral

Tone=Happy

Meter=iambic tetrameter

the poem=The Nymph’s Reply to the Shepherd
رد الحورية على الراعي

writer=Sir Walter Raleigh

type of the poem=pastoral

Structure – Rhyme=these two poems is exact. six stanzas consisting of four lines each .
In each stanza, the first line rhymes with the second, and the third rhymes with the fourth.

Marlowe’s poem and Raleigh’s carefully symmetrical response were printed together in England’s / 1600Helicon

Marlowe’s poem embodies the classic example of carpe diem, as can be seen in the shepherd’s attitude

characters=
the passionate shepherd
the shehperd s love
swains

theme=the passionate shepherd" is the rapture of springtime love in asimple, rural setting
