اذا عصر درايدن هو الريستورايشن فالي اعرفه هو ان تشارلز ذا سكند كان بفرنسا وكانت بريطانيا باكستريم بيوريتزم وبعد ما جا وهي ريستورد ذا ثرون نقل الشعب من اكستريم بيورتسزم الى اكستريم ليبراليزم تعرفين كان مدلع ومفخفخ بفرنسا فلما جا لبريطانيا غير االوضع وصار فيه سوشيل كوربشن الحريم صاروا يخونون ازواجهم وكانت بدايه البوي وفريند والمدري ايش واتوقع ان الحريم بهالوقت بدوا يمثلون (ماني متاكده هو بهالعصر ولا لا) الموهيم ان تشارلز ذا سكند فتح الكورت للشعراء علشان يجون ويوسعون صدره فصاروا يحطون ثيمات تعجبه وانفسمت الثيمات لثيمات تخدم الناس العاديين وثيمات تخدم المطاوعه (اتوقع ماني متاكده) واهم شي ان الشعراء دخلوا كمن كلمه فرنسيه علشان يرضون ذوق تشارلز + يخلون الكلام اخف موفقه حبي واذا عندك معلومات عن عصر سدني بليز لا تبخلين علينا |

compares poetry to philosophy and then he compares poetry to history. At the end, he shows superiority of poetry to history and philosophy.
He said that philosophy depends on giving abstract ideas, universal truth. It is difficult to understand. It needs highly educated people to understand it because it is always addressing the mind, the thinking, the philosophical analysis; whereas history does the opposite. It is only dealing with what happens actually in reality. These are concrete examples, what is really happening in life is written in history. These are incidents that actually happen. These are concrete examples. So philosophy gives abstract ideas, whereas history gives concrete examples. The aim of both is to teach, philosophy teaches morals and history teaches history. Poetry makes use of both. It deals with the abstract ideas but it also gives them concrete examples. It makes use of what is found in philosophy and what is found in history. It does the same function. It teaches from abstract ideas and it teaches through concrete examples. But it is better than both as it delights. It is better than history as it teaches morality, the ideals. It teaches better than history as in poetry we have poetic justice but in history, we do not have poetic justice. Sometime a tyrant in history is very successful and never punished. But it can never happen in a work of art. In poetry, a tyranny can never be prosperous. In reality, sometimes good people are not rewarded, they are sometimes punished for things they never go, but in poetry, this can never happen. So poetry is better, because it has poetic justice whereas in history, we do not always have justice. Justice is only found in poetry. neadersay'sthat the French have imitated by combining the serious with the comical: tragicomedy. He says you have attacked us for using tragicomedy and you said that it is absurd, but the French writers have begun to imitate the English writers. He gives us the name of prominent writers such as Moliere to show us that French writers have begun to imitate the genre of tragicomedy, therefore it is not absurd. He is going to give us more points showing thus why a tragicomedy should be used in drama.
then, He is going to justify the use of tragicomedy. 1- He says that when we put opposites they show each other clear. In other words, when we put two opposites together they show the qualities or the characteristics of the thing they’re being put next to. This applies to drama because if I want to show something that is very serious I bring with it comedy. The comedy will bring out the tragic elements, and the tragic elements will bring out the comical effect. He uses the word contraries. 2- When we are in a tragedy the audience needs to be relieved a little bit. One way of doing that is by adding music, another way is by adding comical scenes; it relieves the audience from being two tense while watching the play. What Neander says here is that we need the comical element in order to provide relief. 3- He does not believe that compassion, sympathy and mirth (laughter) destroy each other: The honor is that they have invented the genre of tragicomedy. Neander shows not just that it is not absurd and there is logic behind it, he gives the honor to the English for having contributed with the genre of tragicomedy. تفضلي طير ده الا عندي دعواتك |
