ÇáãÍÇÖÑÉ åÐí äÙÑíÉ ßáåÇ ÊÚÇÑíÝ Speech act theory is a theory of language based on a book called “How to Do Things with Words äÙÑíÉ ÝÚá ÇáßáÇã åí äÙÑíÉ ááÛÉ ÊÓÊäÏ Úáì ßÊÇÈ ÇÓãÉ (“How to Do Things with Words) ãÄáÝ ÇáßÊÇÈ åæ ÇáÝíáÓæÝ Ìæä ÇßÓÝæÑÏ ÇæÓÊä (by the Oxford philosopher John L. Austin) æäÙÑíÉ åÐÇ ÇáßÊÇÈ ÊÞæá Çä ÇááÛÉ ÈÞÏÑ ãÇåí äãæÐÌ ÇæÇÐÇÁ Úãá åí ÇíÖÇ ØÑíÞÉ áäÞá ÇáãÚáæãÇÊ (. The theory states that language is as much a mode of action as it is a way of conveying information.) ÇæÓÊä ÞÓã ÇáäÙÑíÉ ÇáäÙÑíÉ áËáÇË ÇÞÓÇã locutionary act we are simply ‘saying something’ that has meaning. In other words, a locutionary act produces an understandable utterance ÝÚá áÝÙí ÇæÞæáí Çä ÈÈÓÇØÉ äÞæá ßáÇã áÉ ãÚäì ãÝåæã Çæ ßáÇã íäÊÌ Ôí ÇÉ ãÚäì ãËá áãÇ ÇÍÏ íÓÇáäÇ æÇÍäÇ äÑÏ ÚáíÉ ÈÇÌÇÈÉ ãäØÞíÉ ãÝåæãÉ [COLOR="red"]illocutionary act[/COLOR] is that it reflects the intention of the speaker in making the utterance in the first place. ÝÚá ÇáãÛÒì åæ Þæá íÚßÓ äíÉ ÇáãÊßáã íÚäì ÇíÔ íÞÕÏ ãä ßáÇãÉ ãËáÇ ÇäÉ íÔßÑ ÔÎÕ Çæ íæÚÏÉ ÈÔí ÇæíÚÊÐÑ perlocutionary act (or just simply the perlocution) carried out by a speaker making an utterance is the act of causing a certain effect on the hearer and others through that utterance (in Latin “per” means: “through”).
