One is that when we are bored or tired, we just don't breathe as deeply as we usually do. As this theory goes, our bodies take in less oxygen because our breathing has slowed. Therefore, yawning helps us bring more oxygen into the blood and move more carbon dioxide out of the blood.

Why don't some companies pay overtime

Over time is expensive. In most countries, over time pay is 1.5 times normal pay, and salaries are generally the largest expense in a companies books already. As such, it’s cheaper to cycle employees throughout the work day, rather then run one constantly.
Employee stress/ tiredness. If an employee is tired, they will be less effective, and more likely to accumulate stress, which will make them less effective, and potentially make them more tired. It’s a dangerous cycle of diminishing performance.
