Poetic diction

Poetic diction is the term used to refer to the linguistic style, the vocabulary, and them m t a p phors used in the writing of poetry. In the Western tradition, all these elements were thought of as properly different in poetry and prose up to the time of the Romantic revolution, when William Wordsworth challenged the distinction in his Romantic manifesto, the Preface to the third (1802) edition of Lyrical Ballads (1798)

2- Byronic hero

The Byronic hero is an idealised but flawed character exemplified in the life and writings of Lord Byron, characterised by his ex-lover Lady Caroline Lamb as being "mad, bad, and dangerous to know".[1] The Byronic hero first appears in Byron's semi-autobiographical epic narrative poem Childe Harold's Pilgrimage (1812-1818

the theme of th novel is the same as the title.the novel is about the parson yoricks journey through france and italy . to analyze the title and the theme we need to speak about the significance of the two important words in the title sentimental and jourmey

the word sentimental means that the writer is concerned with his feelings about the people he meets and the place he sees rather than with the objactive de************************ionof the places and the people he encounters throughout his journeys

sterne is a pioneer in writing senteimental traveling novels . he records the psychological consciousness of his characters. he is not like tobias smollett who objectively writes a de************************ion of the places he sees in france and italy sterne thought that such objactive writers are superficial .he needed to record the inner real feelings of his characters

the second important word is journey the journey motif is onn of the most important motifs in englich novel. the following points highlight the important of the journey motif.

1\life itself is a journey that starts with cry and ends with cry
2\ the blood cyclr in our bodies is also essential to our life >
3\mans life is also based on the principle of movment.
4\natural life is based on the essence of movment . the moon, the earth and the sun move in circle
