Implicature. الاعتراض

Implicature leads the listener to infer something that was not explicitly asserted by the speaker.

Characteristics.
-Implicature operates over more than one sentence.
-Implicature depends on shared knowledge between the speaker and the hearer.
-Implicature depends on the surrounding context of the discourse.

Eg.
A: Will Sally be at the meeting this afternoon? B. Her car broke down.
Implicature: Sally won't be at the meeting.

يقود المستمع إلى استنتاج شيء لم أكد صراحة من قبل المتكلم.

خصائصة :
يعمل باكثر من جملة
يعتمد على المعرضة المشتركة بين السامع والمتحدث
يعتمد على سياق الخطاب

مثال : أ / سـالي سوف تكون في الاجتماع هذا بعد الظهر ؟!
ب/ تعطلت سيارتها
