Romanticism
Major points to consider pre-lecture:
By the end of the 18th Century Britain was starting to see the beginning of the Industrial revolution.
This was causing changes in the countryside as there were more factories and buildings.
Some people wanted to reject modern life and celebrate the beauty of nature and the human spirit. These were the Romantic poets.

The Romantic Poets
A movement of poetry in late 18th Century/early 19thCentury Britain.
Celebrated the beauty of nature and the pure human spirit.
They were against the Enlightenment ideas of empiricism and human reason.
The British Romantic poets were the most famous part of a movement that was all over Europe and in all the arts.
شعراء الرومانسية
حركة الشعر في أواخر القرن 18 / أوائل 19thCentury بريطانيا.
احتفل جمال الطبيعة وروح الإنسان النقي.
كانوا ضد أفكار التنوير التجريبية و العقل البشري .
كان الشعراء الرومانسيين البريطانيين الجزء الأكثر شهرة من الحركة التي كان كل أنحاء أوروبا وفي جميع الفنون.
William Wordsworth
William Wordsworth (7 April 1770 – 23 April 1850) was a major English Romantic poet.
Famous for his poems about the English countryside.
Lived in the ‘Lake District’ and was an important ‘Lake Poet.’
Wrote many famous poems including; the Prelude, the Lucy Poems, Lyrical Ballads and Laodamia.
Seen as one of the greatest poets in the English language.

ويليام وردزورث ( 7 أبريل 1770 - 23 أبريل 1850 ) كان شاعرا الرومانسية الإنجليزية الكبرى.
تشتهر قصائده عن الريف الانكليزي .
عاش في ' منطقة بحيرة ' و كان المهم ' بحيرة الشاعر ".
كتب العديد من القصائد الشهيرة بما في ذلك ، و تمهيدا ، و قصائد لوسي ، الغنائي أغنيات و Laodamia .
ينظر إليها على أنها واحدة من أعظم الشعراء في اللغة الإنجليزية.
The Lake Poets
The Lake Poets are a group of English poets who all lived in the Lake District of England at the turn of the nineteenth century.
The three main figures of what has become known as the Lake School are William Wordsworth, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, and Robert Southey.
The Lake District of North Western England is a very beautiful area with deep lakes surrounded by mountains
. بحيرة الشعراء
بحيرة الشعراء هم مجموعة من الشعراء الإنكليز الذين عاشوا جميعا في منطقة بحيرة انجلترا في مطلع القرن التاسع عشر.
الأرقام الرئيسية الثلاثة ما أصبح يعرف باسم مدرسة ليك هي ويليام وردزورث وصمويل تايلور كوليردج ، وروبرت سوثي .
منطقة بحيرة في شمال غرب انكلترا هي منطقة جميلة جدا مع بحيرات عميقة تحيط بها الجبال .
The Daffodils
One of the most famous poems in the English language.
It is often called ‘I wandered lonely as a cloud.’
A daffodil is a beautiful flower that appears in great numbers in late spring in the UK.
I recommend that you take a look at a picture of some daffodils and some pictures of the Lake District before we start looking at the poem
. و أزهار النرجس البري
واحدة من القصائد الأكثر شهرة في اللغة الإنجليزية.
وغالبا ما يطلق عليه " تجولت وحيدا مثل سحابة ".
و النرجس البري زهرة جميلة التي تظهر بأعداد كبيرة في أواخر الربيع في المملكة المتحدة.
ننصحك بأن نلقي نظرة على صورة ل بعض النرجس و بعض الصور من منطقة بحيرة قبل أن تبدأ في النظر في القصيدة.
The Daffodils
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze
.
و أزهار النرجس البري
تجولت وحيدا مثل سحابة
التي تعوم على ارتفاع o'er الوديان والتلال ،
في كل مرة عندما رأيت الحشد،
وهناك مجموعة كبيرة من أزهار النرجس البري الذهبي ؛
بجانب البحيرة ، تحت الأشجار ،
ترفرف و الرقص في النسيم .
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance
.
مستمر ، كما أن النجوم التي تلمع
و ميض على درب التبانة ،
أنها امتدت في خط لا نهاية لها
على طول هامش خليج :
عشرة آلاف رأيت أنا في لمحة،
القذف رؤوسهم في الرقص خفيف .
The Daffodils
The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed--and gazed--but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:
و أزهار النرجس البري
رقصت الأمواج بجانبها ، ولكنها
خارج فعل موجات تألق في قمة الفرح :
الشاعر لا يمكن إلا أن يكون مثلي الجنس ،
في مثل هذه الشركة مازح :
حدقت - و حدق - ولكن فكر قليلا
ما الثروة تظهر لي قد جلبت :
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils
. ل أفت ، عندما بلدي على الأريكة أكذب
في شاغرا أو في مزاج متأمل ،
وأنها وميض على تلك العين إلى الداخل
وهو النعيم من العزلة ؛
ثم قلبي بسرور يملأ ،
و يرقص مع النرجس .
Conclusion
Try to find some pictures of the British countryside and try to imagine why so many poets write about it
.
