I hope you are all enjoying the experience of designing a research plan. Below are some instructions that I would like you to follow:
When you send the final draft, please mention the following: I prefer that you start sending your final draft on Tuesday 1/5/2014
a. When you sent the thesis statement.
b . When you received approval.
c. When you sent your first draft.
1. Send your final draft once and only once.
2. The tile of the email should be "Final student name" Ex. Final Sarah Jane.
3. The name of the file should be the name of the student. Make sure you send you send your work in word doc file.
4. Use black ink only and do not use text boxes or any other shapes.
5. Title on top of the cover page followed by the student's name and number.
6. Table of contents start on the following page.
7. The abstract must include a short summary of your work instead of giving general information about the topic. This section starts with sentences like "This research aims at, The present study will try to, and etc.
8. The introduction must include background information on the topic. However, this general information must relate to the topic you are writing about.
9. In the literature review, you can cite previous works using any one of the ways mentioned in the project preparation instructions. When you cite a previous work, start with the family name of the author followed by the year of publication e.g. Sogoofy (2014). However, you have to
provide a short explanation of how these studies relate to your topic. After you review the previous studies, you have to end this section with a
comparison between your work and the previous studies to show how your work is different from them.
10. The rest of the section should also describe your study not the topic in general.
11. There are formal referencing styles that are used in documenting your resources. Make sure to use one of these styles rather than just listing your
references haphazardly.
Note: the final draft is your last chance to improve everything. For those who copied their work as a whole or in part from other resources, all you need is to correct this mistake and submit a work of your own. I did not have the time to tell all the students i know where they copied or translated their work from. However, it is their responsibility to make sure they get rid of any plagiarized material.
