Please be advised that the non-fictional prose final exam will comprise 3 Parts:

Part 1: (10 marks)
Identify the patterns of discourse (rhetorical modes) in the following excerpts (10 Marks):
So you will identify the pattern of discourse in 5 passages: you say whether the pattern of discourse is exemplification, process analysis, comparison-contrast, cause-effect, classification-division, etc.

Part 2:(30 marks)
Read the following text carefully and answer the questions below:
You will have questions about the main pattern of the text, supporting details, purpose of the text, inference, tone, etc.

Part 3: (10 marks)
Read each sentence and mark the one answer choice that is a valid inference based on that sentence:
You will have five sentences to each of which you will choose the answer that reflects its meaning: for every proposed sentence you'll choose either answer (a), (b) or (c).
