الاصوات التي تصدر عنددما تكون الحبال الصوتية مفتوحة تسمى voiceless sounds

اهتزاز الأحبال الصوتيه ؛ هذا الاهتزاز يمكن تشعر به عندما تضع اصبعك على منطقة البلعوم وتنطق حرف z

الاصوات التي تكون مع اهتزاز الأحبال الصوتية تسمى voiced sounds
whereas sounds produced without such vibration are said to be voiceless
