Revision – Composition 1
• This worksheet is for the Hajj Holidays. Complete these revision exercises and submit it on the first day of college reopening day. Write all the answers using blue pen. I will not evaluate if it is written in pencil or other color pens. Late submission will not be entertained. No excuse will be accepted for incomplete work.
• A student who submits this worksheet on time, neatly written and gets all correct will get an extra marks (2) in the final exam.
I. Identify all main clauses and underline once and subordinate clauses twice and circle and name the coordinating conjunctions (CS), subordinating conjunctions (SC), conjunctive adverbs (CA), and relative pronoun (RP).
1. Peter doesn’t need to buy a new car, nor does he need to go on vacation.
2. Coal which is a very useful mineral is found in many parts of India.
3. I am sorry you can’t go; besides, the weather forecast calls for rain.
4. He that does his best should be rewarded.
5. Because the class was so noisy today, we didn’t get to have any free time.
II. Correct the fragments either by adding new words to give it a main clause or joining it to a main clause next to it and rewrite them in the space given.

To show place or direction:
above, below, beyond, close, elsewhere, farther on, here, nearby, opposite, to the left (north, etc.)
To indicate logical relationship:
accordingly, as a result, because, consequently, for this reason, hence, if, otherwise, since, so, then, therefore, thus

Eating in the Student’s center in the college (Make a topic sentence)
