 Minimal pairs and sets: when two words such as pat and bat are identical in form except for a contrast in one phoneme, occurring in the same position, the two words are described as a minimal pair. site – side, bet – bat, night – right, might – fight. One minimal set based on the vowel phonemes (heat, hit, hat, hot, hut, hate), and another minimal set based on consonant phonemes
(big, pig, rig, fig, dig, wig).

^ هذا الـ minimal pair معناه كلمتين نفس الشكل بس الاختلاف يكون في حرف واحد في نفس المكان > site * side
# طبعًا اذا كان الاختلاف في حرف متحرك نسميه minimal set based on vowel phonemes > ء hit * hot
# واذا كان الاختلاف في حرف ساكن نسميه minimal set based on consonant phonemes > ء big * pig
