XIV. School Examination Leave
A. General
The Company may grant a leave of absence with pay ("P") to an employee
who is required to sit for the examination of a non-repeated school year.
B. Policy
An employee may be granted a leave of absence with pay if he is required
to sit for the examination at:
• in-Kingdom schools/institutes/colleges which are accredited/
recognized by the Ministry of Education/Higher Education or any other
Saudi Government authority, or
• out-of-Kingdom accredited colleges/universities as endorsed by
Professional Development Department.
The period of the leave will be for the actual days of the examinations.
However, an employee may be granted a leave of absence with pay for a
period of up to ten (10) days if examinations are not within commuting
distance from the employee’s work day residence location, or not in the
Province of the employee’s job assignment.

Official documentation from the school must specify the place, time and the
number of days required to complete the examination for an employee prior
to paid time off being approved.
When an employee submits the required examination documentation after
taking the examination, he may have "L" or "X" time taken on the day of
the examination converted to "P" time.
An employee retaking a failed examination, or an examination in a repeated
school year due to academic failure, is not eligible for leave with pay. In
such cases, a leave without pay may be granted.
