هذه المقاطع او المورفيمات تنتهي بـ s متطابقه لغويا وتختلف في النطق وتعتمد على الصوت النهائي لشكل الاسم المفرد
على سبيل المثال
1 اذا انتهت الكلمه قبل s بصوت ساكن غير منطوق
voicless تنطق s مثل maps او cats
2 اذا انتهت الكلمه قبل s بصوت منطوق voiced
مثل rooms او balls
3 اذا سبقت s باحد الحروف الاتيه
ch - sh - dg - z - s تنطق iz
مثل witches - wishes - fridges
