prefixes they give meaning to words
I might ask you about the meaning of the prefix
X = I give you options and then you select from them
also , study the exercises in the slides about prefixes and suffixes
suffixes = e.g. -tion ---------------- suffixes tell us the part of speech ...... -tion is used to make nouns
I might ask you about any suffix or prefix
either I give an example or ask you about the meaning/part of speech of the suffixes and prefixes
I have students at higher levels asking me about improving their English.... I always say, go back and study reading books and always use English
This course is important not only for passing or failing,,, it is important because it helps you improve your English
in each passage, there is one main idea and supporint sentences (examples of the main idea)
E.g. Sports can be dangerous. for example, horse riding can be fatal. Many doctors also said that playing football can cause health problems. in 2012 there were X number of accidents in sports......
Which sentence is the general sentence and which sentences are examples (supporting ideas)
The rest of the sentences are just examples
