A1:Scanning allows a person to look up specific information from a large text or some other kind of information source.
While skimming allows the person to quickly read through something to get the basic idea.
A2: A pronoun should refer clearly to single, clear, and specific noun.
e.g 1: The supervisors told the workers to expect a bonus.
e.g 2: Ahmed called Ali`s house all day, but Ali never answered the phone.
A3: Verb to be is used to explain.
E.g: 1- There is nothing here. "Exists"
2- I am at home. "Location"
3- He is a teacher. "Identity"
4- It`s cold today. "Weather"
5- She is angry. "Feelings"
