II. Past Progressive Tense
Past Progressive Tense:
- It is used when we have two events or actions in the past; one of them happened during the continuation of the other action / or both were in progress
-- يتم استخدامه عندما يكون لدينا حدثين أو إجراءات في الماضي ، حصل واحد منهم خلال استمرار إجراءات أخرى أو كلاهما في التقدم
- The form of the verb [ was OR were + V-ing ]
-I, He, She, It + was + V-ing هذا للمفرد
-They, We, You +were+ V-ing هذا للجمع
- We use When, While and As to join two sentences.
نستخدم ((When, While and As )) لربط جملتين ببعضهما البعض
مثال:
e.g. - The doorbell rang .
رن الجرس
- I was watching TV.
كنت اشاهد التلفزيون
كيف نربط هذي الجملتين ببعضهم؟؟
نضع ((while or as )) بين الجملتين وتكون الجمله كذا...
The doorbell rang while/ as I was watching TV.
الجرس يرن بينما كنت اشاهد التلفزيون.
تعني (( بينما)) = while or as
اما لو بنستخدم when نبدل الجملتين نقلبهم يعني وتصير كذا الجمله
I was watching TV when the doorbell rang
كنت اشاهد التلفزيون عندما رن الجرس
لان كلمه whenتجي بعد الفعل المستمر
