أهم التعاريف وسيكون نسبة كبيرة منها في الاختبار القادم

gram - atomic weight :any element is the weight of a specified number of atomes of that element

gram molecular weight: is the sum of the atomic weights of the atoms that make up a compound

gram formula weight : is a more accurate description for substances that don't exist as molecules butexist as ionic compounds

the equivalent weight :is that weight of a substance in grams that will furnish one mole of the reacting unit

concentration : The amount of solid dissolved in a unit quantity of solvent

Molarity M : the number of moles of solute per liter of solution (moles/liter)

Normalty N : the number of (gram equivalent) of the solute dissolved per liter of the solution

Molality m : the number of moles of solute dissolved per kilogram of a solvent

pure HCL IS ELECRICALLY NEUTRAL AND DOES NOT CONDUCT ELECTRICITY. when it is dissolved in water it produces ions and becomes an electrolyte

Sugar & ethyl alcohol do not produce ions in solution and these solutes are therefore called non electrolytes

acetic acid CH3COOH Produces less number of ions (due to partial dissociation) & conduct electricity but only very weakly these compounds are called Weak electrolytes

Electrolytes in Body Fluids : Given in milliequivalents per liter (meq/L)

C6H12O6 Glucose :
1-Do not conduct an electric current
2-No ions are produced in water
3- Dissolve as molecules only
