i think u r talking about the physiological role of insulin

i will tell u the answer ..

insulin is used in the management of hyperkalemia=}high potassium level

especially in emergency

this high level of K is considered as critical and fatal

& insulin would be the drug of choice to manage this condition

u must give insulin along with glucose to prevent hypoglycemia

........

believe it or not

in such situation u should play ur role to show the others the importance of ur job
