Verb to Be ( فعل : يكون ) :
** في المضارع :
* نستخدم am مع ضمير الفاعل I
I'm a pupil ( لاحظ أن I'm = I am )
* نستخدم is مع ضمائر الفاعل المفرد He و She و It
He is a boy
She is a girl
It's a cat
* نستخدم are مع ضمائر الفاعل الجمع We و You و They
We are pupils
You are pupils
They are pupils
** في الماضي :
* نستخدم was مع ضمائر الفاعل المفرد I و He و She و It
I was in Alexandria yesterday
He was at school yesterday
She was at the library last week
The cat was in the hat
* نستخدم were مع ضمائر الفاعل الجمع We و You و They
We were in the garden yesterday
You were at the cinema last Sunday
They were at the beach last Thursday
** نفي Verb to Be
* لكي ننفي فعل " يكون " نضع بعده not فقط
I'm not a pupil
We were not in the garden yesterday
