the first spark of what is generally believed to be a step in the direction of the novel writing was john bunyan . the work that came very close to remind the possible emergence of novel as an art form was pilgrims progress . what it did was to defelop a story and some kind of a narrative to tell a story . the same narrative was to be later on one of the major features of the novel writing . among such writers werethe people who came to the understanding that surely a new form of literature was on . the man who created the first english novel was daniel defoe .
