I also wish to advice all of you to study well for Grammatical rules and systems and to indicate that the exam will consist of a lot of questions that cover almost everything.
-you will have to study very well from the book (you already have the handout)and presentations and concentrate on the definitions since you are going to have a question on definitions.
-another question is to mark the statement TRUE or FALSE and also to correct false statements so you have to study all the points that we covered.
-you will also have a question where you should be able to identify the MAIN CLAUSE (MC) AND RELATIVE CLAUSE (ReLCl) for example,
The senator examined the problem (MC)
The problem had cused the strike. (RelCl)
?How to combine these two sentences???
The senator examined the problem THAT had caused the strike.
The second sentence is embedded into the first.
-you will also have a question to change the form of the verb into the form indicated in parentheses, for example.
You should take you medicine (IMPERATIVE)
Take you medicine
-and of course you will have to analyze sentences into tree diagrams.
