* Most of the poetry that was written in the neo-classical age was about the people in London or the world of aristocrats.
* Wordsworth is reacting sharply against that type of subject or theme. He wants to bring new subject into the poetry so instead of writing about a high class or about the city people, he preferred to talk about common or the rustic people or the people of the country.
One reason for this might be because he himself lived there in the countryside. He was familiar with these people. The second reason might be that he wanted to bring new themes into poetry.
When it comes to people who are natural, spontaneous, you are talking about country people not city people. The country people usually show their feelings and emotions. They are not reserved or artificial or fake.
the best place to get emotion from is country people because they are not afraid of showing their emotions, because there life is simple and because every day they come in contact with nature so some of the beauty of nature should paste inside themselves.
If Wordsworth is going to write about people and he is going to reflect emotions in their true sense, so he has to go the source to the country where people are showing their emotions and their passions freely without any sort of constraints. That is why he chooses the rustic people.
