*The principles of a good critic by Pope:
*** The first one is idea of criticism must be truth and the critic must be truthful in his opinions and what he is saying.
* The second principle is that the critic should be sure of what he is saying, if he is not sure, he has to be silent.
* The third principle is that it is not enough to be true as that truth might be damaging.
* The fourth principle is being part of advice. He suggests that they take the trivial incidents too serious. Do not exaggerate things.
* The fifth principle is that a critic should be free in writing criticism. If a critic is not free he will not give a faithful criticism.
* The sixth, the critic should be plain and sincere and polite. He has to be true in his criticism but in harmonic way. He has to praise his enemy and criticize a friend.
