Translation 1 :
Let it be known to you my son that what I would most like you to follow from will is showing fear from Allah and confining yourself to those act which have been ordered by him. Among what I would like you to follow is the precepts of your an cestors ,and the well behaved among your relations ,since they did not spare themselves from contemplating about those matters which you are going to contemplating and since they had spent their time with those thoughts as you would ,and ultimately they adopted those merits by which they are known, and they left alone what is not ordered by Allah . If , however , you in yourself find it difficult to accept without knowing through experience as they , then attempt this knowledge with understanding and a learning spirit , and not with involvement in suspicious matters , starting to look into this question , ask the self of your lord and pray to him to make you succeed , and leave alone any suspicious act that will lead you to a doubtful course , or mislead you when you are certain that your heart is clear and hence filled with fear and awe of Allah , when you definitely make up your mind and hence you are all devotion , when also what concerns you is solely this goal , then at that moment think about what I have already expounded . If however you don’t see yourself whole heartedly decided , and you feel unclear about your opinion and about your thoughts , then know thee that you are stumbling like a short-sight camel, and stumbling in darkness .
A religious person should neither confuse things nor stumble unknowingly . Hence it is more appropriate to withhold from these things .
Translation 2 :
Omar dis*****ed the following message to Sa’ad Ibn Abi Waqqas while the latter was marching his army to Iraq :
“ O Sa’ad of Bano Wahab ! Do not be conceited that it is said that you are the uncle of the prophet and one of his companions , for Allah all greatness and majesty are due to him , doesn’t pardon a sinner who commits more sins , but he pardons a sinner who changes to good deeds . Allah does not recognize Kinship , but here in his their lord and they are his slaves . They differ among themselves in their wellbeing and they may granted from Allah’s possession for their obedience . Therefore consider the prophet’s way since he was sent to us with his message until he died , and commit yourself to it , for it is the truth . This is my advice to you , if you shy away and refrain from it , you lose the reward of your good deeds .
