1- ثمةَ حزنٌ يكونُ معه البكاءُ مبتذلاً ، فلِمَ البكاءُ .. مادامَ الذينَ يذهبونَ يأخذونَ دائماً مساحةً منّا .. دونَ أنْ يدركوا هناكَ حيثُ همْ ، أنّنا بعدَ فراقهمْ أصبحنا أولى منهم بالرثاء!
2- عندما تسمع في الإذاعات وتقرأ في الجرائد والمجلات والكتب والخطب كلمة " الأرض المحتلة " سنة بعد سنة .. ومهرجانا بعد مهرجان .. ومؤتمر قمة بعد مؤتمر قمة .. تحسبها وهماً في آخر الدنيا ! تظنُ أنْ لا سبيلَ للوصولِ إليها بأيّ شكلٍ منَ الأشكالِ.
3- المخدة سجل حياتنا .. المسودة الأولى لروايتنا التي كل مساء جديد نكتبها بلا حبر ونحكيها بلا صوت .. ولا يسمع بها أحد إلا نحن.
4- وعظتني نفسي فعلمتني أن لا أطرب لمديح ولا أجزع لمذمة .. وقبل أن تعظني نفسي كنت مرتاباً في قيمة أعمالي وقدرها حتى تبعث إليها بمن يقرظها أو يهجوها .. أما الآن فقد عرفت أنّ الأشجار تزهر في الربيع وتثمر في الصيف ولا تنتظر الثناء .. وتنثر أوراقها في الخريف وتتعرى في الشتاء ولا تخشى الملامة.
5- عندما تصبح الأخلاق والمبادىء موضع شك .. والقيم والأصالة شيئاً من الحمق .. وطلب الحقوق ورد المظالم نوعاً من الكفر ... فأنت في وطنٍ يُنتظرُ إعلانُ حِداده !

1- When sadness is tremendous, it is useless to shed tears. Why should we cry at a time those whom we love take part of our soul when they go away, without even realizing that we are the one who should be mourned after their departure?
2- Year after year, a festival after festival, and a summit conference after another, you repeatedly hear the phrase " the occupied land" in radios, TVs and speeches, and read it in newspapers, magazines, and books. It seems that it exists in nowhere, and that it is not accessible in any possible way.
3- The pillow is a record of our life, the first draft of the episodes of our life story that we write every night with no ink, and narrate silently, so no one can hear it but ourselves.

4- I advised myself neither to be flattered by appreciation nor to grieve over depreciation. Before that, I could not judge my achievements until someone evaluate, or devaluate them. I have recently realized that trees blossom in spring, and flourish in summer, waiting for no complement; and scatter away their leaves in fall, and strip naked in winter, fearing no blame.
5- When ethical and moral principles are suspected, and genuine ideals are underestimated, and calling for justice and right is disgraced as atheism, this means that you are in a homeland that is about to fall down.
