Marks for the midterm exam 20marks
Marks for class work and presentation10 marks
Marks for attendance and participation 10 marks

Externals:
Marks for the final only 100 marks
Classroom Rules:
1. Students will usually be occupied in some sort of writing at any given point in the semester and during the lectures .
2. Students will receive constructive commentary and feedback on the spot , and serious attention will be given to the skills of critical analysis that should develop in their writings.
3. In class writings will be collected occasionally to be checked and marked as part of years’ work grades
3. Late arrivals and early departures are disruptive and discourteous: Please be punctual.
4. Attendance is significant. Absence from class is no excuse for ignorance about what the class is discussing; it is your responsibility to learn about the work in class.
5. Class discussion will be both more useful and more fun if you have read the poems before we begin discussing them. Class participation is counted in the midterm grade.
6. Students are responsible for reading all assigned poems and all supplementary and commentary materials supplied in the photo copy center or in the Yahoo group ( kahlanpoetry group ).
