Choosing a topic Choose the topic you want to write about:

- The advantages of a large college
or
- The advantages of a small college

Brainstorming

- Write down the ideas that come to your mind.
- The ideas should be related to the topic you chose.

Organizing ideas in order of importance

- One way of doing this is to write about the most important ideas first, then write about
the less important ones.

Writing the topic sentence - The topic sentence tells the reader the main idea of the paragraph.

- It usually comes at the beginning of the paragraph.

A good topic sentence shouldn’t be too specific.

- In an opinion paragraph, a good topic sentence should clearly state your opinion .
