الجملة المركبة Compound sentence
هي عبارة عن جملتان من نوع simple sentence يربط بينهما أحد الكلمات التالية:
And, or, but, so
Example: Ahmad studied very hard, but he didn’t pass the exam.
الجملة المعقدة Complex sentence
هي عبارة عن جملتين يربط بينهما أحد الكلمات التالية:
Because, although, if, when, while, after, before, unless, since, as soon as
Example: Although Ahmad studied very hard, he didn’t pass the exam.
Ahmad didn’t pass the exam although he studied very hard.
