1-What is narrative prose? Writing that tells a story. Non-poetic writing
2-A Comparison or Contrast essay is an essay in which you either compare something or contrast something. A comparison essay is an essay in which you emphasize the similarities, and a contrast essay is an essay in which you emphasize the differences. We use comparison and contrast thinking when deciding which university to attend, which car to buy, or whether to drive a car or take a bus or an airplane to a vacation site.
3-Descriptive prose is simply writing that describes or gives a picture of a scene. Some writer descriptions of the setting in which their story is situated before any action takes place or any dialogue.
You can decipher the tone through analyzing the diction, subject matter, and syntax of the piece. For example, if the author uses many short sentences, they may be detached from the subject matter. If they are also writing about something emotional, then you could describe the tone as "detached" .
The tone of a literary work is difficult to describe. I'd say it is the feeling the author's words portray. For example, an essay can be written in an angry, critical tone.
Irony of tone is the contrast between the narrators words and what actually happens.
