When she wrote this poem, in her sickness, she found a kind of shelter in religion. She found comfort in religion in her few last years of her life. She was worried about the end.
She is asking question how to know. She has the earnest to know. She is in need of finding peace and a resting place.
She ended to be a good believer. She wanted to be a better person. She is reflecting the Bible.
There is only one speaker. She is reflecting her wariness. She is in need for satisfaction.
She is dealing with life and death, efforts before death, rest can be achieved after death.
