هو أصلا قس من الآباء الكاثوليك ، ولكن الفاتيكان منعه من تدريس العقيدة الكاثوليكية لآن له آراء لاهوتية مثيرة للجدل . وقد ترك المجتمع الكاثوليكي ، ولكنه بقى في جامعة توبينجن كأستاذ فخري في اللاهوت المسكوني منذ عام 1996 .
ماذا قال :في كتابه Tracing the Way

في حالة أصحاب الأديان الأخرى ، الشخصية التاريخية تميل لاكتساب كثير من الأساطير (بواسطة أتباع الديانة) ، ولكن هذا ليس صحيحا في حالة محمد .
In the case of some other founders of religion the historical figure tends to get lost in legend and myth, but that is not the case with Muhammad.

إنه من الخطأ نبذ الإسلام على أساس أنه دين النار والسيف بدون أن نعرف مادته الدينية . فإنه بلا شك أن العرب من خلال النبي محمد قد ارتقوا لمرتبة عالية من الأخلاق والدين مبني على الإيمان بإله واحد و أخلاقيات إنسانية أساسية .

It would be wrong to dismiss Islam as a religion of fire and sword ant not to see its religious substance.For there is no doubt that through the Prophet Muhammad , the Arabs were raised to the level of an ethical high religion based on faith in one God and on a fundamental ethic of humanity

لقد كان محمد نبي أصيل بلا شك . في أمور كثيرة لا يختلف عن أنبياء إسرائيل . ولكن المسلمين يولن أهمية كبرى لحقيقة هامة وهي أن محمدا لا يقف في وسط الإسلام مثلما وقف يسوع المسيح في وسط المسيحية. حيث أن في الإسلام لم تتجسد كلمة الرب في شكل إنسان ولكن ظهرت ككتاب . والقرآن في نسخته الأصلية يقف مع الرب في وسط الإسلام
There is no doubt that Muhammad was an authentic prophet, in many respects not dissimilar to the prophets of Israel. But Muslims attach great importance to the fact that Muhammad does not stand at the centre of Islam as Jesus Christ stands at the centre of Christianity. For the Muslims, God's Word did not become a man but a book. And the Qur'an, which in its original version lies with God himself, forms the centre of Islam

if we judge the greatness by measuring the influence of that great on the people, so we should say that Mohammed is the greatest great in history ,he stopped racism and myths ,and established over Christianity and Judaism and his country's religion, a very clear and a strong religion , that succeeded to be until these days a power with great danger

ماذا قال :

We the citizens of Europe with our believes and principles, couldn't reach what Mohammed has reached

لقد بحثت عبر التاريخ عن مثل أعلى للإنسانية ، واستنتجت أنه محمد . لذلك يجب على الحقيقة أن يتم إظهارها و إعلانها ، لقد نجح ، إنه الذي أحنى العالم
بكلمة التوحيد .

I'v searched through history to find a top example for human , and I concluded that he is Mohammed

therefore the truth must be revealed and raised , as Mohammed has succeeded, the one who bowed the whole world by the word of monotheism

His readiness to undergo persecution for his beliefs, the high moral character of the men who believed in him and looked up to him as leader, and the greatness of his ultimate achievement - all argue his fundamental integrity. To suppose Muhammad as imposter raises more problems than it solves. Moreover, none of the great figures of history is so poorly appreciated in the West as Muhammad.

He was the only man in history who was supremely successful on both the religious and secular levels... Muhammad (unlike Jesus) was a secular as well as a religious leader.
