Respecting authorship through good academic practice is one of the key values of higher education in the UK
Plagiarism is the term used to describe the misuse of authorship. It is a serious academic offence and is treated as such by the University of Essex. These pages have been designed to develop your understanding of authorship and plagiarism so that you can adopt good academic practice. Many cases of plagiarism are committed each year as a result of misunderstanding.
But even though confusion and uncertainty is quite natural, especially at the beginning of a new course of study, misunderstanding is not accepted as an excuse or as a defence against an allegation of plagiarism. It is therefore important that you understand what is considered to be 'good academic practice' so that you can avoid all risk of committing plagiarism. And you need to understand now. كل صفحة قصيرة جدا الا دقيقة قراءة. What authorship is In order to fully understand plagiarism, it is important to first understand the concept of 'authorship'. Authorship refers to the production and ownership of ideas and intellectual material, such as books, articles, images, etc. The higher education system in the UK places great importance on recognising the producer and owner of material. Whereas in some cultures knowledge is thought of as communal property, in the United Kingdom it is considered to be individual property. Therefore, improper or incomplete acknowledgement of a source of information is treated as 'intellectual theft'. The proper name for this is 'plagiarism'.

من اجل الفهم الكامل انتحال، فإنه من المهم فهم مفهوم "التاليف".
التاليف يشير الى الانتاج والملكية الفكرية من الافكار المادية، مثل الكتب والمقالات والصور الخ.
نظام التعليم العالى فى بريطانيا تعلق اهمية كبرى على التعرف على منتج وصاحب المواد. بينما فى بعض الثقافات والمعرفة والفكر الطائفى الملكية فى المملكة المتحدة تعتبر الملكية الفردية. ومن ثم، أو غير الصحيح اعتراف غير مكتملة مصدر المعلومات تعامل الفكرية "سرقة". الاسم الصحيح هو "الانتحال".
The issue of ownership is complicated by the fact that some knowledge is said to be 'common knowledge'. Do not be alarmed by this: 'common knowledge' is dealt with later in these pages, in the section called 'what needs referencing', which will help you to identify what needs to be referenced from what does not.

The concept of authorship affects all of your academic work, not just the way you are expected to apply referencing conventions. At University, you will be encouraged to develop your own ideas and construct your own knowledge, using established knowledge as a foundation. You will also be encouraged to 'find your voice', which means developing your own unique academic writing style - your 'authorial voice'. Understanding the concept of authorship is therefore not only important for avoiding plagiarism.
مفهوم التاليف تؤثر على كافة الاعمال الاكاديمية وليس فقط طريقة المتوقع لتطبيق الاتفاقيات المراجع. فى الجامعة, كنت على وضع الافكار الخاصة بك، لبناء المعرفة الخاصة بك باستخدام المعرفة القائمة اساسا. كما سيتسنى لك تشجيع "يجدون صوتك', وهو ما يعنى تطوير اسلوب الكتابة الاكاديمية الفريدة - authorial "الصوت". فهم مفهوم التاليف ولذلك فهو ليس مهما فقط تجنب الانتحال.
What plagiarism is The University applies the following definition of plagiarism: 'Using or copying the work of others (whether written, printed or in any other form) without proper acknowledgement' ما هى جامعة انتحال

In brief, if you use the work of others, you must either quote it or paraphrase it, but whichever method you choose, you must include a citation and reference. Note the phrase 'proper acknowledgement' in the University's definition. A piece of work that is partially referenced (for example, work in which a quote is put in quotation marks but not attributed to anyone) is still classed as plagiarism: merely acknowledging that an idea or phrase is not your own is insufficient. Failing to specify the exact source will be considered plagiarism. باختصار، إذا كنت تستخدم فى عمل الاخرين, عليك اقتبس او عندى ولكن الأسلوب الأنسب لك اختيار، عليك أن تشمل وقيمتها. علما ان عبارة "ملائمة تعريف الاعتراف بالجامعة. قطعة من العمل جزئيا المرجعية (على سبيل المثال، تعمل فيها اقتباس من الاقتباس ولكن لم تنسب لاحد) ما زالت تصنف بوصفها الانتحال: لا اعترف بان فكرة او عبارة ليست كافية الخاصة بك. دون تحديد المصدر الدقيق سوف يعتبر الانتحال.

If you use a source when you write your assignment, whatever that source might be, you cannot simply copy whole sentences or paragraphs as though they are your own. Regardless of your intentions, it is plagiarism: even if you think the sentences are excellent and express the point better than you could; even if you have taken so many notes on a topic that you have forgotten to note the reference to some of the sources. Whatever your reason, the rules are very clear: if you copy someone else's words and use them as your own you will be plagiarising and risk failing your assignment, receiving a mark of zero for the module, or even being required to withdraw.
إذا كنت تستخدم مصدر الاحالة الخاص بك عندما تكتب، بغض النظر عن المصدر, لا يمكنك ببساطة نسخة الجامع الاحكام او الفقرات وكانهم بنفسك. بغض النظر عن نواياك, الانتحال: حتى إذا كنت تعتقد أن الاحكام ممتازة للتعبير عن هذه النقطة افضل مما يمكنك; حتى ولو كنت قد اتخذت العديد من الملاحظات حول موضوع نسيت على الاشارة الى بعض المصادر. مهما كان السبب الخاص بك، قواعد واضحة جدا: اذا قمت بالنسخ شخص اخر كلام استخدامها الخاصة بك سيتم plagiarising المخاطر الخاصة بك عدم الاحالة استلام علامة الصفر وحدة او حتى يطلب منه الانسحاب.
- Copy sections of someone else's work but change the odd word or phrase
If you use someone else's work in anything you submit for assessment then you must make sure that you give the author full and proper credit according to the conventions of your discipline. You cannot escape this by simply changing some of the words and phrases. You must always acknowledge and give full credit to all your sources. If you would prefer not to quote because of the context, then paraphrase instead. شخص اخر نسخة عمل الفروع الفردية الا ان يغير كلمة او عبارة
إذا كنت تستخدم غيره العمل فى اى شئ قمت بتقديم تقييم ثم عليك التأكد من أن تقدم صاحب البلاغ كاملة وصحيحة الائتمان الخاصة بك حسب اتفاقيات الانضباط. لا تستطيع ان تخرج هذا بمجرد تغيير بعض الكلمات والعبارات. ويجب عليك دائمًا الاعتراف واعطاء بفضل جميع مصادرك. إذا كنت تفضّل عدم الاقتباس بسبب السياق ثم عندى بدلا من ذلك
