اما الراي المقابل قال انه مستحيل الترجمة لان :
1- ترجمة الشعر يجب ان يكون شعرا في حد ذاته
2- لانه غامض وله علاقة خاصة بين المعنى والشكل
مفهوم Skopos
هو هدف وغرض الشعر
to say that the aim or skopos of its translation is to carry over the source text function into the target text; it is thus an instrumental translation
distinctive of poetic style are:
It’s physical shape including use of lines and spaces on a page
It’s use of inventive language and in particular, patterns of sound and structure
It’s openness to different interpretations
It’s demand to be read non-pragmatically( وهذي المقصود فيها ان قرائتها لا تكون لاغراض عملية بقدر ما تكون للتذوق والمتعة )
yet poetic traditions vary from one culture
يجب ايضا اعتبار اختلاف الثقافات
مثلا
كأنَّ الأسودَ الَّلابيَّ فيهمُ غُرَابٌ حوْلَه رخمٌ وبومُ
As if the Nubian blacks were crows around them vultures and owls
الشاعر لم يوفق في الترجمة لان الغراب عند العرب يشير الى دلالات غير ما هي في الثقافة الانجليزية
