organic vs. Non-organic produce

the amount of organic products on sale around the world has increased since the 1990s. Organic is a “term” that defines organic produce as a type of food produced without any pesticides or herbicides. There are several reasons why a consumer may prefer organic produce. These include nutritional claims that organic food is better than nonorganic food in terms of its contents of minerals, vitamins and other nutrients. Also, there are health claims that modern food is highly processed and contains dangerous levels of pesticides and other chemicals which do not exist in organic produce. Moreover, organic produce reduces stress on the land and is a responsible way to farm. Finally, in organic farms, animal welfare is taken into consideration as they do not raise animals in abnormal conditions.
many major supermarkets now provide organic produce on their shelves. Yet, you have to be absolutely certain the product is truly organic. Read the labels and see if it is certified. Educate yourself on the issues related to organic food including nutrient content. In doing so, you will be able to make the right and informed choices for you and your family.
