Poststructuralism and Deconstruction Definition
v Poststructuralism is a broad historical description of intellectual developments in continental philosophy and critical theory
v An outcome of Twentieth-century French philosophy
v The prefix "post’ means primarily that it is critical of structuralism
v Structuralism tried to deal with meaning as complex structures that are culturally independent
v Post-structuralism sees culture and history as integral to meaning
v Definitions
v Poststructuralism was a ‘rebellion against’ structuralism
v It was a critical and comprehensive response to the basic assumptions of structuralism
v Poststructuralism studies the underlying structures inherent in cultural products (such as texts)
v It uses analytical concepts from linguistics, psychology, anthropology and other fields
تعريف الما بعد بنيويه و التفكيكيه ::

- المابعد بنيويه وصف تاريخي واسع للتطورات الفكريه في الفلسفه القاريه!!!!! والنظريه النقديه .
- كنتيجه للفلسفه الفرنسيه للقرن العشرين .
- الاضافه ( مابعد ) تعني بشكل رئيسي انها critical!!!! للهيكليه .
- البنيويه تحاول ان تتناول المعنى كبنى معقده مستقله ثقافيا .
- المابعد بنيويه تنظر الى الثقافه والتاريخ كجزء لايتجزء من المعنى .
- تعاريف
- المابعد بنيويه كانت ثوره ضد البنيويه .
- كانت رد حاسم وشامل للافتراضات الاساسيه للبنيويه .
- المابعدبنيويه تدرس البنى الكامنه المتأصله في المنتجات الثقافيه ( كالنصوص مثلا )
- انها تستخدم المفاهيم التحليليه من اللغويات , علم النفس , الانثروبولوجي وعلم الانسان ومجالات اخرى .

The Poststructuralist Text
v To understand a text, Poststructuralism studies:
ü The text itself
ü the systems of knowledge which interacted and came into play to produce the text
v Post-structuralism: a study of how knowledge is produced, an analysis of the social, cultural and historical systems that interact with each other to produce a specific cultural product, like a text of literature, for example
Basic Assumptions in Postsctructuralism
v The concept of "self" as a singular and coherent entity, for Poststructuralism, is a fictional construct, an illusion.
v The “individual,” for Poststructuralism, is not a coherent and whole entity, but a mass of conflicting tensions + Knowledge claims (e.g. gender, class, profession, etc.)
v To properly study a text, the reader must understand how the work is related to his own personal concept of self and how the various concepts of self that form in the text come about and interact
v Self-perception: Poststructuralism requires a critical attitude to one's assumptions, limitations and general knowledge claims (gender, race, class, etc)

- لفهم نص معين , تدرس المابعد بنيويه :
- - النص نفسه
- انظمة المعرفه التي تفاعلت لانتاج النص .
- المابعد بنيويه : دراسة تتناول كيف تنتج المعرفه , تحليل الانظمه الاجتماعيه , الثقافيه , والتاريخيه والتي تتفاعل مع بعضها البعض لتنتج منتج ثقافي محدد , كنص ادبي مثلا .
- فرضيات اساسيه في المابعد بنيويه :
- مفهوم الذات كفرد وكيان متماسك , بالنسبه للمابعد بنيويه , هو بنيه وهميه , مجرد وهم .
- بالنسبه لمابعد البنيويه , الفرد ليس كائن متماسك ومتكامل , لكن كتله من التوترات المتضاربه ومزاعم او ادعاءات للمعرفه ( مثلا النوع , الطبقه , المهنه .. الخ )
- لدراسة النص بشكل مناسب , لابد ان يفهم القارئ كيف ان العمل مرتبط بمفهومه الخاص للذات وكيف ان المفاهيم المتنوعه للذات التي تتشكل في النص تتحقق وتتفاعل . التصور الذاتي : المابعد بنيويه تتطلب موقفا حاسما افتراضات واحد، والقيود والمطالبات المعرفة العامة (الجنس، العرق، الطبقة، الخ)!!!!!

Basic Assumptions
v “Authorial intentions” or the meaning that the author intends to “transmit” in a piece if literature, for Poststructuralism, is secondary to the meaning that the reader can generate from the text
v Rejects the idea of a literary text having one purpose, one meaning or one singular existence
v To utilize a variety of perspectives to create a multifaceted (or conflicting) interpretation of a text. Poststructuralism like multiplicity of readings and interpretations, even if they are contradictory
v To analyze how the meanings of a text shift in relation to certain variables (usually the identity of the reader)
v Poststructuralist Concepts
(1): Destabilized Meaning
v Poststructuralism displaces the writer/author and make the reader the primary subject of inquiry (instead of author / writer)
v They call such displacement: the "destabilizing" or "decentering" of the author
v Disregarding essentialist reading of the content that look for superficial readings or story lines
v Other sources are examined for meaning (e.g. readers, cultural norms, other literature, etc.)
v Such alternative sources promise no consistency, but might provide valuable clues and shed light on unusual corners of the text.
الافتراضات الاساسيه ::

- (( النوايا التأليفيه )) او المعنى الذي ينوي المؤلف ان ينقله في قطعه اذا كان الادب , بالنسبه للمابعدبنيويين ( عندي شك في صحة التسميه !!!) هو شيئ ثانوي بالنسبه لمعنى يستطيع القارئ ان يستنبطه من النص .
- يرفض فكرة النص الادبي ذو الهدف الواحد , المعنى الواحد او وجود فردي واحد .
- للاستفاده من التنوع في وجهات النظر لخلق تفسير متعدد الاوجه للنص . المابعدبنيويه كتعدد القراءات والتفسيرات , حتى لو كانت متناقضه .
- لتحليل كيف ان المعاني لنص تتغير فيما يتعلق بمنوعات محدده ( عادة هوية القارئ ) .
- مفاهيم المابعد بنيويه .
1 - معنى مظطرب :
- المابعد بنيويه تزيح الكاتب او المؤلف وتجعل القارئ هو الفاعل الرئيسي للتحقيق(بدلا من المؤلف او الكاتب )
- المابعد بنيويين يسمون مثل هذه الازاحات (( زعزعة الاستقرار )) او (( نزع المركزيه )) من المؤلف .
- تجاهل القراءه الجوهريه لمحتوى يبحث عن قراء سطحيين او خطوط القصه .
- يتم فحص مصادر اخرى للمعنى ( مثلا , القراء , المعايير الثقافيه , ادب اخر ..الخ )
- مثل هذه المصادر البديله لاتعد بالتناسق او التماسك , لكن ممكن ان تقدم ادله قيمه وتلقي الضوء على زوايا غير عاديه من النص .

Poststructuralist Concepts
(2): Deconstruction
v Poststructuralism rejects that there is a consistent structure to texts, specifically the theory of binary opposition that structuralism made famous
v Post-structuralists advocate deconstruction
v Meanings of texts and concepts constantly shift in relation to many variables. The same text means different things from one era to another, from one person to another
v The only way to properly understand these meanings: deconstruct the assumptions and knowledge systems which produce the illusion of singular meaning
المفاهيم المابعدبنيويه ::

1- التفكيكيه ::
- المابعدبنيويه ترفض انه يوجد بنيه اوهيكل ثابت للنصوص , وتحديدا نظرية المعاضه الثنائيه التي شهرها المابعدبنيويين .
- معاني نص او مفاهيمه تتحول بشكل ثابت فيما يتعلق بالكثير من التنوع . النص نفسه يعني اشياء مختلفه من حقبه زمنيه الى اخرى , ومن شخص الى اخر .
- الطريقه الوحيده لفهم هذه المعاني بشكل مناسب : تفكيك الفرضيات وانظمة المعرفه التي تنتج وهم المعنى الوحيد .
