ماهو المقطع اللفظي؟
هو صوت حرف العلة (u، o، i، e، a) الذي تم إنشاؤه عند نطق كلمة واحدة.
كـ عدد المرات التي تسمع صوت حرف العلة (u، o، i، e، a) في كلمة واحدة هي مساو لعدد من المقاطع في كلمة له
امثله على ذالك :

- cake - has 1 syllable
- eat - has 1 syllable
- cheese - has 1 syllable
- eating - has 2 syllables (eat - ing)
- chicken - has 2 syllables (chick - en)
- worrying - has 3 syllables (wor - ry - ing)
