رد: Write About Anything Related to English Courses

I started today with Reading Stratigies and I made short summray for part of the lecture, I just made it shorter I mean I didn't add a lot of things because I can't write fast with the Dr.

InshaAllah I will try my best to write small notes from his lecture in future

3 Ways to Get the Meaning From Context:

1- Punctuation:
• Some of Punctuation Marks:
. = period or full stop
, = comma
; = semi-colon
: = colon
-= hyphen
_ = dash
( ) = round brackets

• Uses of Punctuation Marks:
I think it's good to take a look at the using for punctuation marks, and i don't know if we will study it later , but it's good to know a brief about it.
see this link:
http://www.englishclub.com/writing/punctuation.htm

• Example:
Tony Blair (the former British prime minister) resigned from office in 2007.

2- A clue in another sentence: (surrounding words)
• Example:
A school system in one country is not identical to the system in any other country. It cannot be exactly the same because each culture is different.
The second sentence have the same meaning of the first sentence.

3- Logic:
• Example:
Public schools are all both free all students and egalitarian; all students are considered equal and learn the same the same material.
Here, egalitarian means equal.
