كنت سعيدة لرؤية الشرطي و هو ينقذ قطتي
Here, we're talking about a particular policeman. Even if we don't know the policeman's name, it's still a particular policeman because it is the one who saved the cat.
هنا , نحن نتحدث عن شرطي معين , حتى لو لم نكن نعرف إسم الشرطي , فإنه يظل شرطي معين لأنه شرطي واحد فقط هو من أنقذ القطة
لذلك نستخدم the للإسم
I saw the elephant at the zoo.
رأيت الفيل في الحديقة
Here, we're talking about a specific noun. Probably there is only one elephant at the zoo.
هنا نتحدث عن إسم معين , ربما هناك فيل واحد فقط في الحديقة
Countable and Noncountable Nouns
الأسماء المعدودة و الغير معدودة
The can be used with noncount nouns, or the article can be omitted entirely.
The نستطيع إستخدامها الإسم الغير معدود , أو حذف الأداة تماما
مثال :
I love to sail over the water
أحب أن أبحر فوق الماء
/ some specific body of water جزء معين من الماء
Or
"I love to sail over water
أحب أن أتبحر فوق الماء
any water/ أي ماء
مثال آخر :
He spilled the milk all over the floor
some specific milk, perhaps the milk you bought earlier that day
هو سرب الحليب فوق كل الأرضية .
حليب معين , و قد تكون قد إشتريت الحليب في وقد سابق من ذاك اليوم
Or
He spilled milk all over the floor
any milk
هو سرب حليب فوق كل الأرضية
أي حليب << غير محدد
"A/an" can be used only with count nouns.
