Surface structure

We can take these two sentences to identify the meaning of surface structure

Ali broke the window
The window was broken by Ali

In traditional terminology, the first is an active sentence and the second is passive.The distinction between them is the surface structure


Deep structure

The basic components shared by the two sentences would be represented, has been called their deep structure

Deep structure
It is an abstract level of structural organization in which all the elements determining structural interpretation.

مختلفتان في التركيب
لأن الاولى active والثانية passive


ولكن في التركيب العميق deep structure

و باستخدام التحليل الشجري ،
سيتبين أن الجملتين تعبران عن نفس المعنى

علي كسر الشباك
والشباك كسر بواسطة علي

في التركيب العميق deep Structure هو نفس المعنى
لأن في الجملتين الشباك هو المكسور وعلي هو الكاسر
