تعتمد relate على اللي بعدها passive/active verb
"to be related with/to someone" (passive verb) only means that they are family.
For example: "I am related to my sister (she is family) but I do not relate to her (I do not understand her well)."
"relate" is the verb from the noun relation/relationship; so it is the passive/active verb that determines the meaning.
